Hi. My name is Emily Cusic, and I am the founder of Horse and Hound Sitters. I often joke that I prefer to spend time with animals over most people, and that’s what led me to start Horse and Hound Sitters. So many of us dream of being able to earn a living doing something we love. I have been fortunate enough to fulfill that dream by spending my days caring for and enjoying the company of animals – both yours and mine!

My husband Joe and I live in Oakboro, NC with our three cats, two horses, and 10 dogs. We volunteer with Operation C.A.R.E. (Carolina Animal Rescue Effort), a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue group located in the Charlotte area. We provide foster care for homeless dogs as well as donating pet sitting services to other fosters homes, so those caregivers can get some time away. My husband and I agree that finding “forever homes” for more than 75 previously homeless animals is our single great accomplishment.

Additionally, I am Red Cross certified in pet CPR, and I am accredited by the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. I am also a member of Pet Sitters International and the Charlotte Area Professional Pet Sitters Association.

Horse and Hound Sitters provides in-home pet care, daily dog walking, and farm sitting services in the following areas:

East Charlotte                   Stanly County
Cabarrus County               Union County

You pets will receive loving and personalized care; we also give your home that “lived in” look, which keeps your property safer when you’re away. Our rates are reasonable, and we will customize our service to fit the needs of you and your pets.
